FIABCI–TAIWAN’s Autumn Cultural Study Tour
FIABCI–TAIWAN organized a cultural study tour to visit facilities along Taiwan’s eastern Pacific coast in Taitung County. The tour started with a visit to the Taitung Art Museum, known for its indigenous cultural characteristics, as well as the Hunter’s Restaurant, featuring tribal totems, public art installations, garden landscapes, and driftwood artworks that embody rustic natural textures.
The group then visited the Kungtung Presbyterian Church, an early example of exposed concrete architecture. Participants also attended programs from the annual Taitung Art Festival, featuring neoclassical chamber music that integrates contemporary art, light and shadow symphonies, corporeal aesthetics, and interactive technology.
The tour concluded with a visit to the renowned Paul Chiang Art Center (https://www.paulchiangartcenter.org/en), a cultural landmark on the Pacific coast consisting of five buildings co-designed by architect Lin You-Han and renowned artist Paul Chiang. Nestled in the mountains overlooking the ocean, the site offers visitors a serene experience to appreciate both architectural and artistic creations — providing members with a unique perspective on cultural real estate and the environmental value it embodies.
