FIABCI Americas International Summit
The FIABCI Americas International Global Summit was held in the beautiful Mayan Riviera. Cancún, Playa Del Carmen and Tulum welcomed over 220 delegates and guest from over 25 countries.
Under the beautiful sunny skies of the Maya Riviera in the gorgeous Bahia Principe Resort, three days of intense meetings, property tours and presentations were held – centering on both the region on the far-reaching areas of North, South and Central America.
Americas Committee President Tony Hanna Greyab, held more than six meetings with his committee, which included Vice President, Eugenia Fox (USA), Secretary General, Azizali Kanjee (Canada) and his team made up of the local committee from Miami to Mexico.
Among the special guests welcomed by FIABCI World President Farook Mahmood at the Opening Session was the Governor of the State of Quintana Roo, Carlos Joaquín González.
Seven invited speakers covered topics ranging from sustainable housing to cities of the future. In addition to all the business work and discussions during the Summit, there were several social events that were enjoyed by all. The highlight of the events was the closing ‘Banquet’ held on a beautiful moonlit evening on the beach. The attire was all white, and included a sumptuous dinner, mariachi band, live band, award ceremony and dancing on the beach. It was a night to remember.
In surveying the attendants, over 90% requested that this type of event be held in different areas of the region at least once every two years. More than 97% of those surveyed gave the Cancún event a highly successful event rating.
There is a major support for FIABCI in this region from sister organisations which have requested further collaboration with FIABCI in the Americas and internationally. The Americas executive has taken note of this and will look at further collaboration efforts in the future.
