Now in its 33rd year, the FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence Awards has become a global benchmark for real estate achievement. Immediate Past World President Ramón Riera Torroba described the Awards as a prestigious program that highlights projects that go far beyond aesthetics or functionality: “These are developments that embody innovation, sustainability, and community impact - projects that give back to the environment and society in meaningful and lasting ways.”
He continued to add that they are inspired by the incredible diversity and quality of the projects submitted. From affordable housing to environmentally responsible developments, from heritage restoration to innovative commercial spaces, the award categories reflect the dynamic and multifaceted nature of real estate. “These awards not only recognize achievement, but also encourage a global culture of excellence, creativity, and resilience in our industry.”
On the other hand, President of the Prix d’Excellence Committee, László Gönczi, stated: "Since its inception, it has garnered widespread recognition and interest from professionals around the world."
He continued to add that the earlier success of national chapters in Brazil, Malaysia, Singapore and later Hungary, which initiated their local real estate competition, had inspired over 20 chapters to establish their national competition, whose champions now represent the majority of international entries. He welcomes developers from countries without national competitions to enter directly. In fact, their direct participation has sparked the creation of local chapters in their home countries.
He explained further that the judging process of the Awards is rigorous, transparent and highly professional, whereby each year 65 to 70 experts from over 30 countries assess the participating projects and are bound by a strict rule, which is that no judge may evaluate a category in which their country has a submission.
He emphasized the competition's unique ethos: "This is more than a contest - it's a global forum where quality outweighs size, and where David can truly defeat Goliath."
The Secretary of the Prix d'Excellence Secretariat, Dr. Yu Kee Su, while applauded the winners for raising the bar in the industry once again with their excellent creations, called upon the developers from all around the world to reaffirm their shared mission to shape spaces that are not only functional and beautiful but also sustainable and future-ready. “The integration of green building practices and smart technologies design has never been more critical, and your work exemplifies the transformative power of these principles.”
