83rd session of the UNECE Committee on Urban Development, Housing and Land Management
From 3 to 7 October 2022, the 83rd session of the UNECE Committee on Urban Development, Housing and Land Management was invited by the Government of San Marino to convene at the Kursaal Congress Centre, San Marino. The purpose was to support the regional exchange of experiences and good practices promoting affordable, adequate, and climate-neutral housing; and inclusive, circular, smart, and sustainable cities as part of countries’ response to and recovery plans for the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Real Estate Market Advisory Group reviewed their plans for Tbilisi, Georgia, and San Marino as we met with representatives of both governments. At the close of the session and after negotiations, a San Marino Declaration was signed by supporting members and became a working document.
It was my privilege to participate and sign the agreement. I was also able to initiate conversations on our panel regarding the introduction of Industrial Hemp Building Materials as a climate-neutral building material. My presentation, signature, and final report are included for those with further interest.
Elizabeth Belenchia, UNECE Real Estate Market Advisory Group member since 2015.
