Presidential trip to Panama
Last month, FIABCI World President Jordi Ribó traveled to Panama in his first official visit to the country, just days after participating in the 6th edition of the Latin American Real Estate Congress in Guatemala.
Hosted by FIABCI-Panama President Eric Van Hoorde, President Ribó held several high-level meetings throughout his stay in Panama City, including:
- A meeting with the Board of Directors of ACOBIR, Principal Member of FIABCI-Panama, chaired by Francisco Cheng, to strengthen ties, learn more about the local market, as well as opportunities for the sector.
- A visit to the Chancellery of the Republic of Panama, where the President was received by Minister of Foreign Affairs Erika Mouynes and Minister of Housing and Land Management Rogelio Paredes, in presence of Vice-Chancellor Dayra Carrizo and Vice Minister of Territorial Order José Batista.
- A visit to the Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MICI), where the President met with Minister of Commerce and Industries Omar Montilla, accompanied by FIABCI-Panama President Eric Van Hoorde and Executive Director of ACOBIR Xenia Kwai Ben.
- A visit to the Ministry of Canal Affairs, where the Minister of Affairs related to the Panama Canal Aristides Royo received the President and the leadership of FIABCI-Panama, Eric Van Hoorde, and Félix Carles. The goal of this meeting was to further understand the impact of the canal's operations on the Panamanian economy and the real estate industry, in addition to the importance of the conscious use of water in the region.
A special thank you to Sotheby's International Realty Panama, who organized a welcome cocktail in honor of President Ribó’s first official visit to the country at the Marión Art Gallery.
