FIABCI World President Assen Makedonov did not need to travel far to take part in the 15th anniversary events of FIABCI-Bulgaria — his home Chapter — established in 2003 in Sofia. To mark the occasion, a three-day celebration was organized by FIABCI-Bulgaria, under the leadership of Chapter President Boyko Boykov. In conjunction with the event, a FIABCI Board meeting was held, giving a very international flavor to the celebration.
The weekend event kicked off with a welcome dinner before convening the next day for a day-long tour to the Rila Monastery, the largest and most famous monastery in Bulgaria. Founded in the 10th century, it is regarded as one of Bulgaria's most important cultural, historical and architectural monuments. In 1983 it was included in the list of World Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.
Following a meeting of the FIABCI board of directors on 15 September, FIABCI leaders participated in a press conference, which preceded the main business event: a roundtable on “Real Estate in the 21st Century – Tendencies and Perspectives.” The roundtable was attended by several important industry and local government officials.
The day concluded with an anniversary celebration at The Residence, an exclusive private club, where remarks and presentations were made by Word President Makedonov and other VIPs. Joining in the celebration was Sri Astari Rasjid, Ambassador of Republic of Indonesia to Bulgaria. Guests ended the evening by enjoying music and friendship in the piano bar.
Before departing Bulgaria, many of the guests joined for a full-day tour to Plovdiv, an ancient city built around seven hills, in southern Bulgaria, where remnants of former empires still survive – and have left their mark not only on the city’s architecture, but also on its vibrant artistic and cultural life.
Warm accolades were extended by many to World President Makedonov and Mr. Boykov for the warm hospitality and interesting program provided to guests.
