FIABCI-Malaysia: Charity visit to SEMOA
On 5th July 2025, a meaningful visit was made to SEMOA, the Orang Asli Children Education Centre located in Tras, Pahang, as part of a community outreach initiative. A charity fund of RM5,000.00 was donated to support the purchase of school uniforms for the children residing at the centre. SEMOA currently cares for 53 students, ranging from kindergarten to secondary school levels, and also supports 7 SPM graduates and 5 students pursuing higher education at colleges and universities. In addition to the donation for school uniforms, a further RM1,000.00 was allocated to purchase essential supplies to support the daily needs of the students.
The delegates from FIABCI-Malaysia were greeted and welcomed by the children with happy smiles on their faces. In appreciation to FIABCI-Malaysia’s continuous support, the children prepared a special welcome dance and short speeches by three students, in three languages, Malay, Chinese and English.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to engage with the children and the caretakers, understand their challenges, and extend support in line with the broader goal of promoting educational access and well-being among the Orang Asli community.
