

FIABCI Scholarship Foundation Announces Grants for Spring 2025
The FIABCI Scholarship Foundation continues to support the next generation of global real estate professionals who have shown academic achievement, support the UN Sustainable Development Goals, show financial need and a history of community involvement.
The Trustees are pleased to confirm that seven outstanding young professionals were awarded grants to complete their degrees:
- Karen Garcia Ibarra from Colombia is pursuing a Master's in Real Estate from Harvard and is ready to navigate our complex landscape that includes climate change, political uncertainty, and shifting capital markets to support markets in Latin America.
- Julie Detwiler completed a Bachelor's at the University of Basel and is now furthering her studies with a Master’s at NYU. She is committed to continuing learning, collaborating, and contributing to a more globally connected, responsible, and dynamic real estate industry.
- Jeenus Shrestha from Nepal is working on a Master of Real Estate Development at Berkeley and understands how the design of the buildings significantly shapes and controls the entire fabric of the city.
- Ace Kang from South Korea plans to use his Master’s to channel foreign capital into underdeveloped regions to stimulate economic growth and build resilient communities.
- Yufan Liu from Taiwan has started a Bachelor of Architecture at Feng Chia University and aspires to contribute to the industry by creating buildings that go beyond functionality and aesthetics to make benchmarks and symbols of sustainable design.
- Megha Sharma from the UK is committed to completing her Harvard degree and addressing the challenges of population growth and the shortage of subsidized housing in the affordable housing sector.
- Sokaina Zouak from Morocco is equipping herself at NYU with the expertise to develop projects that meet SDGs for sustainable cities and innovation in Infrastructure.
Grants are awarded twice each year, with application deadlines March 30 and September 30, and are available to students enrolled in FIABCI Academic Member Universities, FIABCI Members and their children in all Regions. A Board of Trustees of FIABCI members from all regions reviews the applications and determines award recipients.
