A Legacy of Leadership and Vision
In his keynote address, FIABCI-Malaysia President Dr. Yu Kee Su reflected on the Chapter’s remarkable journey since its founding in 1975. What began as a bold initiative by industry pioneers to connect Malaysia with the global property community has evolved into a world-recognised platform for professional excellence, innovation, and advocacy.
“FIABCI-Malaysia cannot afford to stay still. We must identify the barriers, build new habits, and take steps forward — no matter how small or difficult they may be,” said Dr. Yu. “The pace of change is accelerating, and factors such as climate volatility, digital transformation, AI, and shifting demographics are redefining the real estate landscape.”
Dr. Yu also highlighted Malaysia’s growing prominence on the international stage, with the country assuming the 2025 ASEAN Chairmanship and Minister Nga’s election as President of the UN-Habitat Assembly — achievements that underscore Malaysia’s leadership in sustainable urban development.
Celebrating Achievements, Honouring Contributions
Dr. Yu paid tribute to FIABCI-Malaysia’s 18 past presidents, whose leadership and vision laid the foundations of the Chapter’s success. He also acknowledged the generous contributions of sponsors, partners, and members whose support made the Golden Jubilee celebration possible.
“Tonight is not only about honouring our legacy but also about expressing gratitude — to those who built, believed, and contributed. When drinking water, remember the source (饮水思源),” he reminded.
The event’s major sponsors included EXSIM, OSK Holdings, Eco World, Perdana ParkCity, Matrix Concepts, IJM Land, SkyWorld, TS Law Land, LBS Foundation, and S P Setia, among others.
A Global Voice for Real Estate
Over the past five decades, FIABCI-Malaysia has become a vital voice in shaping national real estate policies and advancing ethical standards in the profession. The Chapter has hosted numerous global and regional congresses, contributed to sustainability dialogues, and earned Malaysia a respected place in the international real estate community.
“Our members have led international committees, won global awards, and brought Malaysian ideas and expertise to the world,” said Dr. Yu. “We are not just a local chapter — we are a global voice.”
FIABCI World President Antonio Campagnoli echoed this sentiment in his congratulatory message, calling FIABCI-Malaysia “a model of balanced growth and lasting relevance.”
“Reaching this remarkable milestone reflects five decades of commitment, leadership, and contribution to the real estate profession — locally, regionally, and globally,” said Campagnoli. “This Golden Jubilee is not only a celebration of the past, but a platform for renewed ambition and unity.”
Looking Forward: Shaping the Next 50 Years
As FIABCI-Malaysia enters its next chapter, Dr. Yu outlined the organization’s forward-looking vision focused on five key pillars: Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ESG, innovation and PropTech adoption, next-generation leadership development, global connectivity, and visionary advocacy.
“To succeed, we must not only adapt — we must lead and re-transform,” he said. “Let us raise our sails and embark on a long journey, full of hope and ambition (扬帆远行).”
The evening culminated with a poetic tribute penned by Dr. Yu titled “My FIABCI-Malaysia: A Golden Legacy,” celebrating the Chapter’s founding spirit and continued pursuit of excellence — a fitting reflection of FIABCI-Malaysia’s enduring commitment to build, connect, and inspire for generations to come.
