FIABCI at FfD4: Advancing Urban Finance and Deepening Collaboration with UN-Habitat
While attending the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), FIABCI had the privilege of engaging in constructive exchanges with its long-standing partner, UN-Habitat.
As part of this engagement, FIABCI participated in the UN-Habitat side event “Financing Our Urban Future: Scaling Up Investment In and Through Cities,” co-hosted with the World Bank and the SDSN Global Commission on Urban SDG Finance.
World President Antonio Campagnoli represented the Federation at this crucial event, which brought together global stakeholders for an informative and action-oriented discussion on how to accelerate urban investment, from technical assistance and risk mitigation instruments to policy reforms and urban finance innovations. Mr. Campagnoli spoke on the urgent need to finance our urban future, a collective responsibility that demands collaboration across the public and private sectors.
The session also featured contributions from Niels Schütt, Anamaria de Aragão Costa Martins, Hisham El Helbawy, Fundiswa Mjamekwana, Ragga Arnadottir, Sello Enoch Dada Morero, Candelaria Testa, Ghana Shyam Giri, Wilson Prichard, Moubarak Moukaila, and Isabel Rodríguez García.
The event helped identify priorities and recommendations to improve financial flows to cities, fostered stronger dialogue among key actors, and reinforced the common purpose of advancing measurable outcomes beyond the FfD4 process.
In addition to the side event, President Campagnoli and Secretary-General Narek Arakelyan had the opportunity to meet with UN-Habitat Executive Director Anacláudia Rossbach and Ana Beatriz Jordão, Head of the UN-Habitat Spain Office, to continue strengthening the collaboration.
FIABCI is grateful for these valuable exchanges and looks forward to working closely with its partners to promote transparency and knowledge sharing in the housing sector.
