Cyclone Idai made landfall in Mozambique
Dear FIABCI members,
Last Thursday, 14 March, Cyclone Idai made landfall in Mozambique, leaving behind a trail of destruction, cutting off electricity as well as destroying homes, roads, medical facilities, and food crops. We are deeply concerned by the reports of death, displacement, and widespread destruction coming out of Mozambique. As of now, the United Nations estimates that 2.5 million people, who were already living in precarious conditions, are at risk.
Medair is responding to the need and will provide urgent life-saving relief to the affected communities.
