FIABCI-Taiwan prepares members for World Prix d’Excellence and national Real Estate Excellence Awards

FIABCI-Taiwan had a productive and eventful day on October 21st. The day began with an information session about the upcoming 2025 Prix d’Excellence Awards. FIABCI-Taiwan consistently nominates approximately 20 projects each year to represent the chapter in the international competition. The chapter’s local achievements are often highly recognized and praised by the global FIABCI community. This year, representatives from around 45 projects attended the session, during which FIABCI-Taiwan Chapter President Lily Chang encouraged participants to take part in the upcoming competition.
In the afternoon, the chapter hosted a forum themed Building Livable and Attractive Cities. Representatives from four winning projects of the 2024 FIABCI-Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Awards were invited to share their innovative insights. Among the projects highlighted was the renovation of Pingtung Public Library. For this project, architects enhanced the building’s transparency and accessibility by adding a new reception hall to the original structure, which was built in 1983. This renovation not only earned an iF Design Award but also attracted widespread attention in international media outlets.
The day concluded with a meeting of the panel of judges for the FIABCI-Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Awards. As is customary, the panel convenes annually before the application period begins to review and amend the rules for Taiwan’s national version of the FIABCI Prix d’Excellence Awards. In light of local authorities introducing a new certification for carbon emission reduction in buildings, the panel incorporated criteria emphasizing carbon emission reduction efforts, ESG measures, and sustainable development into this year’s judging process.
