FIABCI Official Visit to Dubai

It was a busy couple of days for FIABCI, as a delegation of over 50 real estate professionals travelled to Dubai from 25 to 28 March for an official visit on the occasion of the creation of FIABCI-Emirates. The trade mission, which coincided with the International Property Show 2022, was open to all FIABCI members on a complimentary basis, as per the initiative of the Chapter President.

The inauguration of the local chapter’s headquarters, under the leadership of President Dr Mahmoud AlBurai, was one of the highlights of the visit: FIABCI-Emirates is now the exclusive legal entity in the UAE to represent the International Real Estate Organization and develop its activities in the country. At the same time, the creation of a FIABCI Regional Secretariat serving the Africa and Near East Region was formalized, in order to support the work of the General Secretariat in the region.

The three-day official visit was also marked by an important signing ceremony. FIABCI signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Strategic Marketing, Exhibition and Conferences, a company based in Dubai, with the aim to endorse both parties’ activities and events, as well as explore partnership opportunities in the region. Dawood Al Shezawi, Chairman & CEO, represented Strategic Marketing, Exhibition and Conferences as signatory of the official document. This was followed by the signing of a Global Partnership Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding with the MIAMI Association of Realtors, in support of its delegation’s participation in the upcoming 72nd FIABCI World Real Estate Congress in Paris. Teresa Kinney, CEO, and Michael Hinton, Commercial President, represented the MIAMI REALTORS® as signatories of the official document.

As part of the FIABCI delegation’s programme, members had the opportunity to attend official meetings with local, potential partners such as Nakheel, a leading developer with an iconic portfolio of innovative projects, to create business opportunities. The delegation then visited the Sustainable City of Dubai, DAMAC Hills, and OPUS, including Zaha Hadid’s ME Hotel Dubai.

Last but not least, FIABCI World President Jordi Ribó was awarded the Medal of Honour by the Founder & CEO of CEO Clubs Network Worldwide, Tariq Ahmed Nizami, against the backdrop of the Burj CEO Awards.
