MS. LILY CHANG OF TREASURE DRAGON CORP. ASSUMES THE PRESIDENCY OF FIABCI-TAIWAN

On August 12th, President Chang-Hsin Lin handed over the baton upon completion of his second term of office. Under the witness of Deputy Minister Hua Ching-chun of Taiwan’s Ministry of the Interior, FIABCI-Taiwan held a formal handover ceremony for the outgoing and incoming presidents at the Regent Hotel in Taipei.

FIABCI-Taiwan, or locally known as the Real Estate Association of the Republic of China, was founded in 1962 under the call of its founding chairman Glyn T. H. Ing of Continental Engineering Group and joined the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) as its Taiwan chapter two years later. Founded in 1951 in Paris, FIABCI currently has 48 chapters around the world, with members in more than 70 countries and from all sectors of the real estate industry, as well as academics, architects, lawyers, notaries, and other practitioners in various related fields.

Since 1996, FIABCI has been a special advisory body to ECOSOC and has actively participated in the activities and projects of UN-Habitat. The City Prosperity Initiative, in particular, is a joint project between FIABCI and UN-Habitat that seeks to further promote sustainable urban development. In recent years, with rapid urbanization driven by global economic growth, FIABCI has also paid more attention to the issue of affordable housing and, with generous donations from its members, has published the "The City We Need is Affordable" book series.

One of the donors is Ms. Chang and her Treasure Dragon Corp. For the past 30 years, Treasure Dragon has been building houses with the mindset of "being a practitioner who strives to enhance the building ecology", and has been well received by its local community. Ms. Lily Chang has also served as the President of FIABCI’s World Council of Developers and Investors since 2017 and has been an enthusiastic voice for Taiwan in the international arena.

Over the years, President Lily Chang has echoed with FIABCI’s advocacy on affordable housing, hoping that by upgrading the labor market, coupled with attentive design, we can build nice and affordable homes for our young generations.

As the new president of the soon 50-year-old FIABCI-Taiwan, Ms. Lily Chang also looks forward to a younger board of directors that possesses a global mindset. On the other hand, she will bring new knowledge back to Taiwan so that FIABCI-Taiwan can effectively play an important role as a liaison between the industry, government,s and academia, and aid the government in policy-making to forge a healthier living environment.
