FIABCI-Taiwan kicked off the year with its Morning Talk event, held on January 8 at the newly opened Intercontinental Taichung. As participants were also offered an exclusive tour around the hotel, the event turnout reached a record high of nearly 50 people.
The Morning Talk lecture series is an effort of the Taiwanese chapter to encourage sharing best practices and practising English speaking for chapter members and friends. Four events are organized annually, and to facilitate exchanges between different regions in Taiwan, the event takes place in Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung on a rotational basis.
The event began with opening remarks from FIABCI-Taiwan Chapter President Lily Chang and Vice President David Tang, and President Lily Chang took this opportunity to warmly welcome the young professionals who take part in the Morning Talk event for the first time. Morning Talk for Spring 2025 featured Professor Shen Guan Shih from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. Professor Shih specializes in analyzing architectural concepts and materializing these concepts with applications of the latest technologies, ranging from automated construction, and 3D printing, and artificial intelligence. With the help of these latest technologies, aesthetic concepts behind classical architectural masterpieces can be thoroughly analyzed and incorporated into modern-day architectural designs.
The half-day event was then concluded by an exclusive tour around the highly anticipated and widely acclaimed Intercontinental Taichung, owned by China Metal Products Group and managed by Intercontinental Hotels Group. Chapter Vice President and chairman of the CMP Group Tim Lin personally took the event participants to look closely at the hotel and the adjacent CMP INSPIRATION Museum and residential complex.
