Presidential Visit to Taiwan
World President Susan Greenfield visited Taiwan between 14 and 21 August, taking part in FIABCI-Taiwan’s annual Real Estate Excellence Awards ceremony, held at Grand Hyatt Taipei this year. The World President also took this opportunity to conduct a thorough site survey for the upcoming 41st Global Leadership Summit in Kaohsiung and several high-level meetings with local government officials, FIABCI-Taiwan president Lily Chang and other chapter leadership.
FIABCI-Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Awards
This year marks the 17th anniversary of FIABCI-Taiwan’s Real Estate Excellence Awards, the national edition of Prix d’Excellence in Taiwan. World President Susan Greenfield joined Taiwan’s Vice President William Lai in congratulating the 4 gold and 7 silver winning projects of this year’s Prix d’Excellence.
More than 270 projects were recognised at this year’s ceremony, which was televised and covered by several national media outlets. The chapter was also honoured to have Vice President William Lai and Minister of the Interior Hsu Kuo-yung as this year’s awards presenters.
Site Survey for the 41st Global Leadership Summit
World President Susan Greenfield and the FIABCI-Taiwan delegation were warmly received by Secretary-General Kuo of the Kaohsiung City Government on the morning of 18 August, having discussed the opportunities and potential challenges lying ahead of the Global Leadership Summit. She also travelled around the host city and confirmed the venues of this year’s Global Leadership Summit.
World President Susan was joined by senior leaders of a local Principal Member, Kaohsiung Judicious Creative Architecture Association, as well as FIABCI-Taiwan President Lily Chang and Vice President David Tang at the business luncheon.
High-level Meetings
Taichung-based chapter President Lily Chang and World President Susan Greenfield met with Former City Mayor Jason Hu and Deputy Mayor Huang of Taichung for lunch on 20 August. As Taichung was the host city for the 2013 FIABCI World Real Estate Congress, they happily exchanged thoughts about the upcoming Global Leadership Summit in Kaohsiung.
Prior to her departure, the World President also took this opportunity to have dinner with FIABCI-Taiwan chapter leaders. The evening finished with laughter and everyone is looking forward to seeing the World President again soon later this year in Kaohsiung.
