FIABCI-Malaysia celebrates excellence at Malaysia Property Award™ 2024

The Malaysia Property Award™ (MPA) 2024, organized by FIABCI-Malaysia, unfolded in grandeur at the Imperial Ballroom, One World Hotel. The event celebrated innovation, sustainability, and excellence in the property development industry, honouring projects and individuals that exemplify these qualities. Gracing the occasion was Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka, as the esteemed guest of honor.

In his speech, FIABCI-Malaysia President, Dr. Yu Kee Su, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Tuan Yang Terutama Tun and emphasized the significance of MPA as a platform for recognizing exceptional achievements in the property sector. Dr. Yu highlighted the prestigious history of the awards, which have honored 256 outstanding projects from across Malaysia since their inception in 1992.

This year's event featured 18 categories, with a total of 22 awards presented including two individual awards.

"MPA is more than an award—it is a benchmark of excellence," Dr. Yu remarked. "It showcases projects that embody innovation, sustainability, and community needs while setting the stage for international recognition through the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards."

This year marked a pivotal milestone for MPA with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (SHEDA), enabling SHEDA award winners to compete in the national MPA arena.

The event also highlighted the Malaysian government’s initiatives in the Budget 2025 to stimulate home ownership and housing development. Key measures include a Housing Credit Guarantee Scheme for loans up to RM500,000 and substantial allocations for affordable housing projects and maintenance.

Mr. Chia Tee, the Organizing Chairman, reflected on the exceptional quality of entries in 2024, which underscored not only creativity and ambition but also a growing commitment to sustainability and smart technologies. He called on developers to push beyond traditional boundaries, prioritize green practices, and balance economic viability with social and environmental responsibilities.

"Tonight’s winners remind us that excellence is not just about accolades but about contributing to a sustainable and prosperous future," said Chia.

Dr. Yu extended his gratitude to the organizing committee, evaluators, judges, and participants whose dedication brought this prestigious event to life.

As the evening concluded, Dr. Yu congratulated all winners for their inspiring achievements, reminding everyone of the importance of advancing Malaysia’s property industry on the global stage.
