Susan Greenfield's Presidential visit to Italy
In her first official visit to Italy as FIABCI World President, Susan Greenfield travelled to Milan from 21 to 23 June to attend the RE ITALY Convention Day. Created by Monitorimmobiliare.it in 2015, RE Italy is a must-attend event for trade associations and all the main players of the real estate industry to keep up to date with the latest developments, to network, and contribute to the growth of the sector. The Summer edition is particularly advantageous when it comes to taking stock of developments in real estate and planning for the future.
On 21 June, in the context of her trip to Italy, the newly elected President was invited as a guest speaker to attend the inauguration of Luci Nel Bosco, an innovative project that combines sustainability goals with quality and international living standards in the historic city of Busto Arsizio. Dr Ferruccio Ravelli, Director of SPARIM SpA, the developer behind the project, had previously taken part in one of FIABCI's “Developers’ Best Practices” online forums, which are organised every few months in partnership with the FIABCI World Council of Developers & Investors. Watch the recording of Mr Ravelli's presentation here.
Addressing the audience in her welcome speech at the opening of Luci Nel Bosco, World President Susan Greenfield noted: "The Italian real estate market has always been particularly attractive to foreign investors, who can enjoy a thriving economy as well as a quality of life rich in history, culture and gastronomy."
"I have been active in New York real estate for more than a decade. In light of this experience, I recognise in the project that you have presented here today all the necessary elements for Busto Arsizio to become a benchmark regionally as well as nationally.", Susan Greenfield added.
The following day, on 22 June, World President Susan Greenfield met Paolo Pertici, CEO of Revision, a "high-tech, ideas-spreading company" aiming to speed up the real estate sales process. More information about Revision can be found here.
Later that day, an award ceremony to recognise the FIABCI-Italia Prix d'Excellence winning projects took place at Piazza Affari. In total, seven Italian projects were acknowledged, thus qualifying to compete at the international level for the international Oscar of Real Estate at the FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence Awards to be held during the 73rd FIABCI World Real Estate Congress from 6 to 9 June 2023 in Miami, Florida.
World President Susan Greenfield said to the winning projects: "Congratulations on your well-deserved success and thank you for your contributions to the real estate industry and our society as a whole. I look forward to seeing you in Miami next year."
Susan Greenfield also extended her appreciation to FIABCI-Italia President Antonio Campagnoli for spearheading the effort in the organisation of its National Prix d’Excellence Awards: "FIABCI is grateful for your commitment to the federation and the real estate industry."
Other highlights of the first official presidential visit included RE Italy's side event, Fuori RE Italy, organised by FIABCI-Italia on the evening of 22 June, as well as the 28th Annual Conference of the European Real Estate Society (ERES), the World President introduced the panel discussion ESG and Finance for Impact on Real Estate sponsored by FIABCI-Italia.
